MPS Online K-12 strives to provide a non-punitive, safe learning experience for all students focused on positive well-being and mindset, to which innovation, inquiry, critical thinking, risk-taking, and flexibility, will help our students flourish and thrive both Academically and Social-Emotionally.

We offer a flexible learning environment where students are allowed to learn at their pace, and are also challenged with rigorous coursework.   All students will receive a nurturing anti-biased, compassionate, non-traditional education that embraces Shared Voice, Shared Perspective, Equity, Inclusion and Equitable Outcomes for all.
 

Learning day, instruction, and teacher guidance

Grades K-5: K-5 students meet live, virtually with their classroom teachers during the learning day from 8:30 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. They also have small group instruction and specialist classes throughout the day.

Grades 6-8: Middle school students learn live, virtually with teachers in real time, and switch classes based on subject, just like in a physical school.  Teachers have office hours for students who may need extra support or to ask clarifying questions.  

Grades 9-12: High school students learn independently with no live classes.  All teachers are available through their office hours, which can be scheduled through their personal booking pages.

Attendance Policy

We want your child in school on time, every day.  Being in school, on time, and ready to learn is critical to academic achievement and creates a sense of belonging in our school community.  Attendance is taken for every class in your students schedule, in all of grades K-12.

MPS Online School is a full-time* option for all MPS K-12 students as well as students across Minnesota!

Our school provides supportive, high-quality classes anytime, anywhere. We are like any other school with a community of students, licensed teachers, and staff dedicated to the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
